Responsibilities

  • Formulates and defines specifications for operating system applications or modifies and maintains existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.
  • Responsible for program design, modeling, simulation, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
  • Responsible for applications dealing with the overall operating system, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications /communications networks, computer accounting and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages.
  • Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other task personnel.
  • Understands technical and support tasks required to enable the readiness state of systems, infrastructure, and services as well as propose ways to mitigate risk associated with changes to the systems.
  • Analyze existing functional and technical use cases, and propose refinements to the same, and submit change requests or problem reports in accordance with business practices, processes, procedures, systems, and performance measures.
  • Responsible for quality assurance review and the evaluation of existing and new software products.
  • Designing and Maintain server infrastructure in a large, distributed environment which cross multiple physical locations on a Microsoft stack.
  • Solid knowledge of current hardware platforms and configurations (HP, NetApp, Cisco) including physical installations.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, ICA, SMB , AD, SCCM, WSUS, OCSP, SSL/TLS, encryption, certificates.

Required Qualifications

  • Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II (GSEC, Security +, or SSCP)
  • Increasingly complex and progressive experience in performing systems analysis, development, and implementation of business, mathematical, or scientific settings using a variety of information technology resources.
  • Experience with current technologies and, where required for the task, emerging technologies.
  • Must have managed or had significant involvement with complex or substantive information technology projects including 1 year of experience demonstrating management and supervision capabilities.
  • Experience with F5 BigIP load balancing platforms to include writing iRules.
  • Windows networking and troubleshooting skills.
  • NetScout/Wireshark or other packet investigation.
  • Minimum of 4 years hands-on Windows Server, Systems and Network administration experience in an enterprise class, multi-layer, distributed Web Services Environment.
  • Master of Science - 4 years of specialized experience, 1 of which demonstrates management and supervision capabilities OR
  • Bachelor of Science - 6 years of specialized experience, 1 of which demonstrates management and supervision capabilities OR
  • Associate in Science - 8 years of specialized experience, 3 of which demonstrates management and supervision capabilities OR
  • High School Diploma - 10 years of specialized experience, 3 of which demonstrates management and supervision capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • F5 BigIP and certifications from Microsoft, VMware or Cisco
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience to include micro virtualization using containers
  • SAN/NAS Configuration and Maintenance (NetApp preferred)
  • SolarWinds monitoring or database tools
  • Hands-on experience with VMware ESX or other virtualization technologies
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 to current - installation, administration experience with system patching technologies and methods
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
