As a Business Development Manager, you will have the charter to build new business and expand on existing relationships within the Federal Civilian IT market segment.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible to generate new business and expand on existing relationships within the Federal Civilian Agency market segment. This is a great opportunity to work with a team of experts with significant experience in Federal Government solutions. The successful candidate will have a passion for meeting people, presenting corporate capabilities, and a talent for identifying and developing new business relationships and opportunities. You should have a successful track record of lead generation and qualification, opportunity development, and closing deals. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Federal Civilian Business Development. You will have a direct impact on corporate success and accordingly recognized for your contributions.

  • Affinity for cold calling on executive-level decision makers to determine strategic goals and business plans.
  • Aggressively identify, research and pursue high win probability opportunities
  • Contact and develop relationships with contracting officers, opportunity points of contacts and key decision-makers relevant to potential and qualified opportunities in pursuit.
  • Market corporate capabilities throughout the civilian sector.
  • Help design the overall business strategy to obtain new clients through collaboration with the team, implement the necessary tactics to gain their interest, talk to and/or meet with contracting officers, and set meetings up with program offices for our engineers and program managers.
  • Track and routinely update the status of prospects using established processes and tools
  • Conduct gate reviews of new and qualified opportunities for effective capture and funnel management of opportunities.
  • Recommend and execute a total vision for to win business in the assigned territories upon approval.
  • Collaborate with our team of capture, technical and program management professionals to close sales. Support the proposal development effort by providing customer and competitive intelligence.
  • Support solution and strategy development from opportunity identification through contract award, including win themes, staffing, past performance, risk/weakness mitigation, teaming, and price to win.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of experience working with Federal contracting with in-depth understanding of IT infrastructure and application topics and trends.
  • 3-5 years of Federal Government sales and business development experience, including at least 3 years working with two or more Federal Civilian agencies
  • Verifiable Successful track record exceeding annual revenue plans over last 3 years.
  • Must possess the tenacity to step out of comfort zone and contact new customers as needed to chase a diverse set of winnable opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of key Information Technology initiatives across Federal Civilian agencies.
  • Must be a results-oriented team player, and be a high-energy self-starter with a strong work ethic to handle diverse and demanding tasks under pressure.
