  • Assists in developing the physical and logical design of the database, as well as with development, installation, and configuration.
  • Performs server hardware sizing such as disks, memory, processes and environment setup prior to installing the DBMS software.
  • Develops and implements SQL scripts for various aspects of the database such as startup and shutdown, performance monitoring, notifications, and task automations.
  • Monitors the health of the database manually and automatically by utilizing SQL and shell scripts, and employing Oracle and third-party GUI tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Quest Central and Spotlight on Oracle.
  • Installs, configures and maintains Quest’s SharePlex for Oracle replication tool for one-way replication of the database.
  • Assists DBA support staff with the newly configured system and provide detailed documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Secret Clearance and a minimum of 4 years direct experience administrating database systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance.
  • Security+ certification

Preferred Qualifications

Education and experience requirements may be substituted with:

  • A Master’s Degree (in subjects described above) and 3 years general experience of which at least 2 years must be specialized experience.
  • No degree and 8 years general experience of which 6 years is specialized experience.
